I have a Hot Wheels die cast of this, and it never looked like a Mustang to me. Now in this photo I can see the fox body-ness coming through.

Yes.
Coolest looking American race cars IMHO. The huge variety doesn't hurt either. Plus lots of FI and stuff.
Plus I used to have a 4th gen Celica, which means I practically drove one of those race cars.
